SIIMA for the next gen awards given on the first day was a spectacular and a glamorous event. Presented to the young guns of South Indian Film Industry who have left a mark nationally, the night of the Next Gen awards lived up to its name in every way.

The outstanding performances from the multi talented singers and actress like Andrea Jeremiah and Chinmayi Sripada spiced up the audience. Parvathy Omanakuttan,the former beauty hosted the evening. Shravan the most Popular and a favorite Designer among most of the southern stars presented his collection with a black and white and Eastman Era theme. Setting the stage on fire by a number of actors like Rana Dagubbati, Diganth, Ajmal and actresses namely Shriya Saran, Lakshmi Rai, Andrita Ray, Charmee  and Richa Gangopadhyay, the ramp looked like a silver screen. Stars such as, and many more were seen. The eve was attended by a huge number of stars from the four industries.

Actors like Ambarish, Sumalatha, Sarath Rajkumar, Kushboo, Namitha and many more were seen from the seniors lot  enjoying the show and supporting their respective industries. Among the other stars who were seen occupying the front seat were Madhavan, Shruti Haasan, Manchu Lakshmi and Manoj Manchu, Trisha, Amala Paul, Dhanush,Aishwarya Rajnikanth, Simbu , Vikram, Puneet Rajkumar and many more. The awards night promises to be even more starry with a huge number of stars still expected to descend in the golden city of Dubai. The SIIMA Gen Next awards were given away in the following categories.

Sabu Cyril bagged the  Sensational Art Director award, Imran received the Sensation of South Indian cinema-for his Choreography,  Peter Hain Bagged the award for his Action Choreographer while Sonu Sood was recognized as the Stylish Villian of South Cinema, the sensational Sensational Amala Paul was selected for the Rising Star of South Indian Cinema Female and Nani as her counterpart. Stylish Star of the South Indian Cinema was given to Lakshmi Rai and Silambarasan was chosen as the Stylish Actor. Shruti Haasan was chosen as the Pride of South Indian Cinema when ana Daggubati and Trisha was the Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema. Dhanush unanimously became the Sensation of South Indian Cinema-
