Zanjeer the upcoming Hindi movie the remake of the cult classic of the same name, is in brisk progress despite facing copyright trouble over the story from the original writers. The movie which will also kick-start Ram Charan Teja's Bollywood debut will most probably see gorgeous Priyanka Chopra in the female lead.

Priyanka Chopra has been approached by the makers of Zanjeer according to news from the close circuits. Though she has not given a green signal for the proposed project yet, it is believed that she is very excited to play the role of a street performer. The role played by Jaya Bachchan in the original won audience applaud and critical acclaim for her. It is interesting to note that the actress has also been part of Amitabh Bachchan's other cult classic remakes like Don and Agneepath.

However, the remake of Zanjeer is produced by Prakash Mehra, the director-producer of the original version, and directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Meanwhile, Ram Charan Teja has revealed that Amitabh Bachchan is happy for the young actor and he will be meeting the Bollywood superstar to seek his blessings. The project is expected to kick start from April.
