Filmfare award and Vijay Tv awards are the recognitions people look forward to in the film world. But here actor Simbu has shown his protest against the awards announced. For being subjective, the actor has reportedly criticized the recent Vijay awards instituted by popular Tamil television channel Vijay TV and Filmfare award given by India’s largest selling filmy magazine ‘Filmfare’. Though the Vijay TV awards were started some years back the ever-green ‘Filmfare’ awards, , have been there for more than three decades.

Both the Vijay Awards ceremony and the Filmfare Awards ceremony were held in the past fortnight.  Actors Vikram and Surya won the Vijay Awards for the performances while superstar Rajnikanth was voted as the ‘most popular actor’ and the ‘best villain actor’ for his role in Shankar’s ‘Endhiran: The Robot’. It’s not obvious what context provoked Simbu for such an open statement. Simbu, who had given a splendid performance in last year’s ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’, has commented about the awards on his FaceBook.

The ‘Filmfare’ awards for Tamil films in regional category went to Vikram and Anjali, who were elected as the best actor and best actress respectively for their performances in ‘Raavanan’ and ‘Angaadi Theru’ in that order.

“I’m not sure whether these awards are Mahendran-Thangadurai awards or Vijay-Filmfare awads,” Simbu has reportedly remarked, hinting that Mahendran of Vijay TV and Thangadurai of Filmfare (Tamil) have ‘influenced’ the awards and have given the awards as per their choice.  It is to be noted in this context that Simbu’s ‘VTV’ has won both the Vijay Awards as well as the ‘Filmfare’ awards, Simbu wasn’t considered for the ‘best actor’ award. Was Simbu expecting an award for him as he was loaded with greetings from all sides for his performances in ‘ VTV’.  Simbu it would be great if you could clearly state what prompted you to come with a criticism like this.
